"80 gig of space on a drive that needs no electricity is pretty nice. Just plug into the USB and go. The only thing I didn't like about it was the partitions. The 80 gig is partitioned into 3 drives. 2 - 31 gig and the rest on the 3rd partition. I'm going to check and see if I can reformt into 1 80 gig."

"The advantages of a big hard drive in a small package, the advantages of a thumb drive in a slightly larger package. I like the ability to have 80 gigs of storage with out having to fool with the power cords since this is a USB powered unit."

"It shows up as 3 different drives, that way I can use it as different sources, one for music, one for data, etc., You can format it as ONE drive. It's a really great product, I recommend it. Use the USB wire/cable it came with, I tried a different cable, and it was not reading the drive."

"Unfortunately, I saw the problem many reported with Dell laptops and no function. However, that's my office PC and of little consequence in the overall analysis. On my Alienware (laptop and desktop) it works great! If it had another USB connector that functioned as a hub it would be nice. (I think the 40GB model had more than one interface.) I close with the note that I'd gladly buy another, but they're currently out of stock from the manufacturer. 80GB in your hand can be a nice little tool when you need it."

"Had my doubts, wanted the Store-it drive for the fancy features but was not in budget. Bought the IOGEAR 2.5" 80GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive - GHD225U80 and I'm pretty happy with it. Like the three partitions,, works out for my seperate computers, really handy. Only thing is sometimes I cannot stop the device to safely remove it - maybe that's my computer? Thought that hot-swappable was supposed to avoid it. Overall, well worth it for the price."

"I have been completely satisfied with my IOGear 80 GB portable hard drive. It loaded up the required software when connected and it is small enough to carry it when traveling. I do not take my computer anymore when I travel internationally. You can always find a computer in the airport or the hotel."

"I bought this drive as a backup for my laptop and am happier than expected with it. In the description is says that it is around 5.2", but it is actually only around 4". It fits very easily in any of the pockets of my laptop case and is recognized by my computer everytime. I have a desktop IOGear drive for my recording system and that has not failed me once in over a year of owning it. I will buy from this company in the future for sure!"

"IOFEAR is known for good products, but this one is great. 80GB of info that fits in your hand and works just like a USB flash drive or another hard drive right out of the box. That is as much storage space a most computers have and it is portable. Just plug it into any USB port and XP installs everything needed to use it in mere seconds. No formatting required. It took a while to appear on the market, but I would not be without one now."

"This small external hard drive was a great buy! I use it with my laptop and can cary it around with ease. I just plugged it right in and transfered all my files. I recently bought an 80GB iPod and decided that this drive would be a great little device to store all of my media on and to lessen the strain on my computers hard drive. Overall I would deffinatly reccomend this product for anyone. External hard drives are great and this one beats them all due to its small size."

"Ok, I know its hard to find a good size external harddrive which you can carry around with plenty of space. To balance HDD size, physical size, weight and the price factor this IOGear has it all and is perfect. I am extremely happy with this love the ease of use and awesome thing is as soon as i plugged it in my pc it gave me 3 partitioned drive istead of 1 big one so i can organize my stuff easily."

"This drive is easy to use and great value. It did not work when I plugged into the USB port om my Dell Latitude D600. Apparantly the drive needs more power than the USB port provides. Tech support sucks. I was placed on hold for a very ling time (this is After the phone was answered eventually!) and the tech told me to plug in an external power adapter! There is NOWHERE in this drive to plug in an external adapter. He then said someone will call me back - they never did. I resolved the problem by using a dual USB cord - the type that plugs into 2 USB ports on the laptop and the other end into the drive as normal. Such cables apparantly use power from both ports. It is disappointing that I need to use up both USB ports as this leaves me none for my USB mouse. Other than that, this is a good device albeit a little slow."

"Ok,to begin: Pros: a)Very and I mean VERY slim and light weight. It is lighter than the 80 gig ipod and slimmer. b)Super fast. Faster than my Lacie external hard drive c)very inexpensive d)plug and play e)no external power source needed (see cons) f)works PERFECT with macs. Cons: a)The hard drive is fragmented into 3 separate drives. 2 with 35 gigs and 1 with 10 gigs. b)will not work with some DELL laptops. that wasn't my problem cause i don't have PC, i have mac. To fix this problem, you need to buy a powered USB hub. Should you buy it? Yes. The value is great, even with the fragmented hard drive, it is still a great item to have at your workstation. I work with music and sometimes i have to transfer gigs of music from one point to another. If you don't have a PC, even better. If you do, just make sure you will not need to buy a powered usb hub to make it work."
